February Trailer Roundup

Super Bowl Sunday was last weekend, and since then, there’s been an onslaught of kick ass trailers for upcoming games, shows, and movies. Here’s a roundup of a few of them.

Avengers: Infinity War

Probably the most anticipated of the year, Marvel’s 10 year journey leads up this. All there heroes that we’ve been introduced to come together to stop their most terrifying villain yet, Thanos. Even though it’s a short trailer we get a good glimpse at every hero except Ant-Man & The Wasp. The 2 shrinking heroes haven’t been in much advertising because their movie comes out in between this film and the next Avengers movie, and Marvel is trying not to give too much away.

Ant-Man & The Wasp

Following up the 2015, Ant-Man & the Wasp seek to one up everything that made the original so unique. Scott and Hope both suit up in this action film and experiment with Pym Particles, scientific anomalies that let them change the size and density of matter.

Deadpool 2

This trailer pokes funs at Justice League and Toy Story, and gives us our first look at Domino and Cable in action. You can expect Deadpool 2 to be the perfect balance of piss-yourself-funny and over the top gore that made the first one so memorable.

The Cloverfield Paradox

This trailer came out of NO WHERE. There was no marketing for this movie, no trailers, no posters, no press releases, and not even a theatrical release! This is the first glimpse we get of the JJ Abrams produced sci-fi flick coming straight to Netflix. While skipping the theaters might have been a surprise to some, I’m sure most fans were excited when the full movie released the same day.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

This is second movie in the newest Jurassic Park series. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their roles from Jurassic World. The trailer doesn’t tell us much. There’s dinosaurs, there’s some bad dinosaurs, and probably some bad people. You can catch this in theaters June 22.

Jessica Jones Season 2

Jessica Jones is returning to Netflix, and this season we’re going to learn about Jessica’s origin. This season will explore how Jessica got her super powers and explain more of Kilgrave’s history as well. We also got a little tease of Hellcat, Patsy Walker’s alter ego.

Westworld Season 2

All I can say is that it looked very Westworld-y. There is a hidden message in the trailer, that when deciphered, leads us to the “official” website of the Delos company. There we can see that there will be 6 amusement parks this year. We already know about the Western theme park, and it’s been confirmed that there will be a Samurai theme park as well, but the other 4 parks remain a mystery.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

This is the first official trailer of the new Star Wars anthology series. Taking place before A New Hope, we’ll see a younger Han Solo take to the stars to become the best pilot in the galaxy.

Kingdom Hearts 3

My God, this game looks beautiful! The wait for the newest Kingdom hearts game is almost over. Square Enix will be announcing the release date of kingdom Hearts 3 at E3 this year, but they just released this trailer at Disney’s D23 expo. We can see Sora, Donald, and Goofy travel to a few new worlds, such as Toy Story and Monster’s Inc, and use new weapons. It appears that Sora’s keyblade changes design based on the attack or world’s he’s in; it’s not very clear, but all we know is that he’ll be using weapons outside of his standard swords.

Batman Ninja

The newest animated Batman film looks intense. Batman Ninja is an upcoming Batman anime movie where Batman gets transported to feudal Japan. We can see traditional Japanese designs for batman, Nightwing, Red hood, Red Robin, Robin, Joker, Catwoman, among others. This is an interesting take for a Batman story, and I’m sure manga and comic fans alike will enjoy this anime adventure.
